Affordability: I’m over it! Here’s my last installment in home redesign, this time written for people who are looking to add resale value to their homes while getting the best deal on materials and construction. The projects in this book tend to be on the larger scale and might include moving walls, plumbing, etc. Also, it’s not specifically DIY and doesn’t include step by step instructions.
It does include some formulas of how to start thinking about a remodel project – how to dream and then start to express those dreams in a way that eventually translates into real blueprints.
Some of the specific design ideas are already outdated. I’m thinking beveled glass shower doors and brass fixtures. The book was written in 2007 after all. For those who want to use this book to get ideas, I would recommend spending some time on Pinterest, HGTV, or Tour of Homes for example, to see what is currently trending in home design first.
